Astro Boy creator's unique and adult theme manga heading to the big screen.

Hitoshi Iwamoto, best known for Nobuta wo Produce, Death Note script writer Tetsuya Oishi, and Haruo Kimura is bringing Osamu Tezuka’s unique manga MW to the big screen as a live action feature film.

MW, serialized in Shogakukan’s Big Comic magazine from 1976 until 1978, focuses on antisocialism and human drama, homosexuality, rape, and serial murders that are depicted as really unique. However, the movie is already gaining attention on how the adaptation will be visualized in live-action due to the nature of the theme.

Although Osamu Tezuka is known for Astro Boy, Black Jack, and Fire Phoenix, he has authored a wide range of themes in his career, but in spite of the diversity, few of his work has landed in the big screen.
