Naota is still getting used to having Haruhara as their new house maid living with them, how wierd she is and how difficult it is for him as she is allowed to do whatever she wants even if it means revving up that vespa scooter of hers while Naota is being nagged by his sister and practically forced into attending the rehearsals for the school's new play Puss and Boots, as he is arranged to play the roll of a talking cat, which he finds dull and boring. He intends later after all the unecessary nagging to skip the rehearsals the next chance he gets, as he is intent on doing something more interesting. This second volume still has all the panache of the first, but strives to be so original, more so than most normal anime are. The animation is sometimes bizarre in the executing of effects made to make the viewers sit up and look at the screen, but in some ways it can become over stated as humour can only go so far before it is seen as too bizarre.
In a way it detracts from the enjoyment of the story itself, as the story is the one original part of the anime people will want to discover more from. The animated characters are fun and interesting, and do not lack any form or intensity of colour - they are well animated and add to the fun of the anime all round. Haruhara as an alien is an interesting idea as Naota’s parents have no idea who or what she is yet, and do not care really as they now have a working maid in the house!
If people like their anime original, kooky and strange, or even out of this world then this is a definate DVD for them.
As anime and the variants of them are in a way a matter of the viewer’s personal taste, this one will be interesting even to those who do not view it as one of their firm favourites.
