The beauty contest with Billy is not looking good for Narumi. His injured wrist is causing some serious problems. When Kiri steps in to save the day, she catches Billy’s eye and he wants much more than her talent, he wants the special scissors her daddy gave her. It’s the past meeting the present for some serious scheming in the latest fun volume of Beauty Pop.

Billy infiltrates the school and tries to get closer to Kiri but he obviously has ulterior motives. Just who is pulling the strings? And what is so special about those scissors? You’ll find out in this volume as readers learn more about Billy, and the secret of the legendary golden scissors. But Billy may mot be all bad. As he gets to know Kiri more, his past is brought to light. As his heart softens he may be putting himself in harms way with the person who hired him to take down and destroy the SP once and for all.

His getting closer to Kiri is driving Narumi up the wall. The feisty guy is still struggling with how he truly feels about Kiri. And it seems she may not be quite as indifferent as she first appeared. Could romance be brewing between these two? Either way, he has a lot more to contend with than Billy. Someone is out to destroy the SP club. Narumi will find out who it is and it is going to send the manga off in a new story arc as he gets challenged to participate with the SP at the All-Japan Beauty Contest. The catch: if he loses, the SP must disband forever! Still injured, he’s up against a wall and so is his pride. He can’t say no. Plus the nemesis behind all this makes it much direr by adding something to the bet: if they lose, not only will the SP have to forever disband, but Kiri’s family will lose their beauty salon! Things just got a whole lot more personal for this competition. Right off it starts badly for SP when they go up against Team Phoenix who isn’t above a little dirty pool.

IN SUMMARY:
An enemy revealed, a challenge is brought forth, and the stakes just got a whole lot higher for Kiri and Narumi. It’s manga that’s a cut above the rest.
