The final volume starts off with a stunner. A kind nurse who everybody loves is up next on someone’s list for vengeance. But what could this nightingale have done to so seriously garner the big hellacious bad payback? This time the reporter is up against the wall trying to figure out who would want Hell’s vengeance upon her, and races to stop the tragic from occurring before it’s too late. After those rattling events, Hajime is determined to yank his daughter out of Hell Girl’s grasp. But I don’t think Hawaii is quite far enough to get away from a supernatural entity. When Hell Girl asks Tsugumi a question, Hajime goes with her to discover HG’s past. A child sacrifice, a 400 year old horror story, and gruesome candy make up this chilling tale that reveals Ai Enma’s origins! When Hajime and Tsugumi are confronted finally by Ai (Hell Girl) there’s a fight that is shocking. Then we find out just what ties Tsugumi to Ai and it’s a doozy! A 400 year old grudge from beyond the grave has been dogging a bloodline and held heavy in Ai’s heart. One thing this anime has shown without fail is just what evil scum people can be to the most innocent of others. The final volume of the season really lays it on the line. It is one huge whammy of a moral quandary. Ai pushes Tsugumi, manipulating the sweet little girl for her own purposes. In the end which will win out – vengeance or forgiveness? I don’t know if the anime answers that questions, but dang it’s something else watching the struggle. Find out just what happens when the ebodiment of Hell’s wrath decides to mete out some vengeance of her own!
