Nishioka is a photographer who’s hot on and off the set. He gets along with everyone and anyone except the handsome advertising exec who hires him – Daisuke Matsukawa. Matsukawa is the type of man every woman wants. He’s debonair and composed. Yet there’s something about Nishioka that unhinges him. Both keep losing their cool and their heated work relationship may be burning up more than just their tempers! Loveholic is another sensual romance of man love from famed mangaka Toko Kawai (Our Everlasting, Bond(z)). This is another story filled with romantic tension and erotic imagery. Matsukawa isn’t as together as he appears and Nishioka isn’t as careless as he claims to be. Together these men have a fiery relationship amidst the world of business espionage and one-upmanship. For them a lot more is at stake than the latest fashion campaign. It’s the kind of story yaoi fans love and with good reason; it’s well paced and has an exciting story. The character backgrounds that are stealthily revealed give good emotional backup for the behavior of both men and the reason for their emotional tug-of-war with each other. The art work has all the hallmarks of Toko Kawai’s work. Handsome men of course, with intense, burning gazes and long, sculpted bodies. The love scenes are particularly erotic, especially in light of the emotional impetuous she gives the characters. It makes for a sexy and fulfilling read. The first volume contains a bonus side story revealing Daisuke Matsukawa’s painful experience with his first love. There’s also a brief short about a rainy day in Matsukawa and Nishioka’s lives. IN SUMMARY: Loveholic is the perfect romance for the yaoi addict in us all. It has alluring men in an exciting story with just the right amount of angst to add emotional depth to the erotica.
