But they are about to discover that the Androids are the least of their worries. An even greater threat has risen from the shadows – Dr. Gero’s lethal creation – Cell! Born from the genetic material of the greatest warriors ever to walk the Earth, Cell is Dr. Gero’s ultimate weapon, a perfect fighting machine capable of duplicating all of the Z-Fighters’ most powerful attacks. Now, after years of waiting, Cell has begun to unleash his terrifying powers, wiping out entire cities as he gathers the energy he needs to fulfill his creator’s grand design. Time is short! The Z-Fighters must find a way to stop this monstrous foe before he completes his quest to absorb the other Androids and achieves his invincible Perfect Form! The complete fifth season consisting of 26 episodes on 6 DVD discs collected in a vibrant orange art box. It covers episodes 140 to 165.
REVIEW: The complete Imperfect and Perfect Cell sagas are here, collected in one box set! Cell is a threat to the Earth, our heroes, and the Androids. It turns foes into allies and some friends into enemies! This season lacks for nothing DBZ fans! Action, drama and suspense – it’s got it all! As Cell makes his way destroying cities and hunting down the Androids to achieve his perfect form, the Z-Fighters face off with him only to get wasted one by one under his might! They try to stop him, forcing them to have to help the evil Androids who are now victims of Dr. Gero’s maniacal plot. But in order to get stronger, the mightiest heroes have left to go into the Time Chamber and get a full year’s worth of powering up in a very short space of time. The problem is that it only can take two at a time. First are Trunks and Vegeta. Next up is Goku and Gohan. But can any of them achieve a state beyond Super Saiyan? You bet! But is it enough? While Goku and Gohan train, the newly emerged Vegeta and Trunks fight Cell but it tests the very bond between father and son. Cell isn’t just brawny, he’s brainy, and he knows just how to appeal to Vegeta’s arrogant pride, pitting Trunks against him! Vegeta loses more than hero points this round when he does fight Cell. When Trunks goes up against him, he ascends to a new sate of beyond Super Saiyan. Holy power boost! But even that may not be enough to defeat the monstrous Cell. He puts the mega in mega-bad! The fifth box set of episodes ends with the Cell games about to begin! Cell has ordered an underground tournament of fighters to come and try to best him. Just what is the evil villain of the hour up to? The fifth season gets the same sweet remastered treatment as the others, with crisp and clear re-mastered audio and video transfers from the original Japanese source! And you still have a choice between three types of audio: the original Japanese, the revised English dubbed with Japanese music soundtrack, and English dubbed with the English music for those nostalgic types who want what they remembered as kids watching the TV.
