More manga parody fun and frolicking occurs in the second volume of Love Recipe, a serving sure to delight fans of comedic romances. Ozawa continues to do his best as editor for the yaoi division of the star author, the outrageous seducer Kakyoin. A hot new artist is put under Ozawa’s care but it seems the handsome Inukai would like Ozawa to be under him! When love and work mix, jealousies are sure to ignite!

Through all the romantic mayhem in the manga, it also serves as a delightful parody on the manga industry, focusing on yaoi. It is so funny when Ozawa tries to explain to Inukai how to draw and write the sex scenes in yaoi manga that you’ll have to make sure you’re not eating or drinking anything lest you risk choking with laughter because of it. It is that funny. And that’s only the backdrop to this romance.

Ozawa is in over his head with Kakyoin and Kakyoin would have it no other way. But when Inukai needs more and more editorial assistance, Kakyoin’s suspicions turn to possessive flames. Then when Inukai is chosen to be apprenticed to Kakyoin, watch the sparks fly! But there’s more at stake here than just Ozawa’s virtue. Kakyoin is a man and his gender has been the best kept secret within the industry. Just how is he going to wrangle this new “apprentice”, and claim his lover?  The results are well worth the read.

The art is splendid. Wow, does Kirico Higashizato ever have immense talent! The detail and lush appeal of the various characters are amazing. And the versatility of going from over-the-top seduction, to erotic sex scenes, to outrageous comedy is astounding. Each of Kakyoin’s devious expressions, Ozawa’s various woebegone faces, and the manga is top ranking art all throughout.

IN SUMMARY:
A parody of the yaoi branch of manga making and a frenzied romance are the ingredients for a fun yaoi romp in Love Recipe!

Humorous manga are great and this one looks like no exception.
