This partly continues the previous story where Clare battles the tricky Yoma with her Claymore sword, though the story trails off to another Claymore character and her story tells how she was initiated into the organisation from being a starving beggar on the streets. To die or join was her choice, but not much of one as she was operated on and her colour drained from her body, leaving her silver eyes and bright, white hair. She is a seventy-seventh generation Claymore warrior, a half-breed created by the organisation. Her face never changes and when she is in combat with the Yoma, a small smile creeps up on her face. Known as Teresa of the faint smile, she is a feared warrior, but sometimes can cause problems wherever she goes due to the things she says to the others in the villages.

Teresa travels with her trustee right hand, Orlay who tells her of the next village or town who needs her help to rid the Yoma, and after the job is done, she goes to collect the payment. As Teresa embarks on another journey, she is met with another girl, one who looks as though she wants revenge for the loss of her Yoma, but looks can in this case be deceiving.

A Claymores existence seems to be a strange one with only killing involved for monetary gain. And where the money goes is an interesting question as so far the reader will have only seen the Claymores fighting. No one has seen the organisation, and that would be good to see.

The story captures how people would have lived in that time, and shows the gritty realism of the medieval era. Norihiro has a grasp of what people would have looked like too, and gives the reader a real feel of the age he writes about.

With this continuation there is also the realisation of how deadly the Yoma is, and the possibility of how deadly the Claymores can be if they get out of hand and let their Yoma side devour their mental humanity.

IN SUMMARY:
Beautiful yet deadly - Claymore is a fantasy/horror masterpiece that will open your mind.
