Asada is a hard worker who can never seem to catch a break. He wants to move to a better division and keeps being shut out, shut down, and just plain ignored. Miserable at work, he stumbles home after a night of drinking only to fall into some bushes. There Nao finds him. A happy fellow with a positive outlook, he helps Asada up and invites him to his bakery. Despite himself, Asada goes and discovers he has a sweet tooth, and is irresistibly drawn to Nao’s vital presence. Their friendship blossoms but so too do feelings for the young aspiring baker. Miserable from work, Asada never knew being in love could cause him even greater unhappiness! A tale of unrequited love, second chances, and following your heart, this manga is an engaging romance. Both men are likeable, and Asada, although dense, is a nice hard working guy. He simply is too afraid of revealing his feelings. Fear of rejection, of failure, of abandonment, they are universal themes and the author touches upon them well. When Asada hurts Nao, they don’t see each other for three years. When business brings them together, Asada throws caution to the wind, but can he repair the damage done all those years ago? First he has to admit his feelings then share them with Nao. Can a person change? Looking for a second chance, the matters in love also get confused with things at work as he is hit hard again with setbacks. One inevitably influences the other. Can he bounce back? And will he accept himself let alone his love for Nao? It is a sweet story with a lot of relatable and realistic themes in it. The manga has a decent illustrative style with appealing characters. It is an entreating read that’s easy on the eyes for anyone looking for a solid stand alone yaoi romance.
