Hanzo and Usagi have survived a lot to get together. They want to get married but first she has to qualify as a ninja. But before that, she has to survive their latest mission in enemy territory! The latest in this romantic feudal fantasy epic sees Usagi tested out in the field amongst her enemies and coming face to face with Lord Nobunaga himself! They manage to carefully negotiate their way out of enemy territory, but Lord Nobunaga’s page, who met Usagi once before, insists on accompanying Hanzo and Usagi partway through their trip. Will he see through their disguise? Fearing the worst, Usagi tries to keep it together and keep their secret safe from the enemy. Ranmaru however, seems to have other plans… This is a suspenseful volume of Tail of the Moon with Usagi finally starting to maybe come into her own. To prove herself and serve the Iga, she takes on a very dangerous mission with Goemon. Posing as a simple shopkeeper, she attempts again to fulfill her mission. But Ranmaru crosses paths with her yet again and it can only mean trouble for the gentle and kind Usagi. Suddenly she finds herself in the midst of Iga’s enemies and all alone with no ally by her side. When faced with meeting Lord Nobunaga, she proves her mettle by doing her best and improvising to try to do what she can, ninja style, for her clan, her people, and herself. He bravery in this volume is inspired. Now it remains to be seen if her plan will work!
