Satsuki is having the worst birthday ever. She has to do a makeup test, then everyone seems to have forgotten her birthday and she’s stuck at home alone. For Satsuki, that means going out and starting a fight. Then Aya shows up for the real rumble to begin – the battle for Satsuki’s reckless heart!

Aya still hasn’t told the tomboy girl he adores that he’s smitten with her. And it’s no wonder. She starts fights with everyone and anyone and at the drop of a hat drags Aya along on one crazy adventure after another that often ends in a brawl. And through it all she never catches a clue that he likes her, let alone how she feels about him – until now.

The birthday moment has a sweet touch but Satsuki remains unknowing to Aya’s sweeter and far too hidden affections. But an overnight class trip might be the perfect romantic moment when they end up just the two of them having a romantic walk on the beach. That is, until a couple of hooligans earn Satsuki’s wrath. Later Aya gets suspended and it’s Satsuki who comes to his rescue by bringing him his schoolwork everyday and help him get ready for the exam to enter the next year. She doesn't want him to get left behind because she can’t stand the thought of them being apart. You’d think she’d have a big clue then and there as to how she feels about him, even after she crashes at his place for the night!

Christmas comes and Satsuki is working part time at a cake shop and somehow ends up on a double date with Aya. Some serious cuddling happens between them and maybe, just maybe, Satsuki has the first wee hint as to her true feelings for the boy. With New Year’s, a party gets a bit risqué (well, by Aya’s standards) and he is forced to kiss the girl he’s always wanted. Will the boy finally make his move? It’s more fun and laughs in this rumble of a comedy. It has a more heavily romantic toned bonus story about a girl and her crush on a young janitor.

IN SUMMARY:
The latest volume of Short Sunzen sees tomboy and reformed hooligan getting closer. It’s fun, fights, and romance in Short Sunzen!
