The Kanto Tournament Finals are taking a toll on Seishun as it tries to hold its own against Rikkai and keeps losing. Now Rikkai only has to win one more game in order to go forward and win the finals and leave Seishun in the dust. What that means for Prince of Tennis fans is that the matches are about to be more suspenseful than ever before.

First is the singles match between Inui and his childhood friend Renji Yanagi. It was with Renji that Inui first honed his playing style of data analysis. Now all these years later they face off again and Renji can use Inui’s style of playing against him! Without his ability to use his data, Inui, normally a cool and collected character, has to fight tooth and nail for every inch of the tennis court.  How can he beat the player who knows his every thought? It will be a game to remember in this match and you’ll get to see a side of Inui that readers have never seen before.

As riveting as the fight with them has been, the main match that explodes off the pages of this particular volume is the one between Shusuke Fuji and Rikkai’s ace player Akaya Kirihara, the ruthless tennis genius who went after Ryoma’s knees previously. Such an evil player should win without any trouble, especially against the laid back Shusuke, despite Fuji’s strong playing. However everyone is in for one shock after another when Shusuke finds a reason to win and goes all out, revealing a hidden talent that not even his coach guessed he had! This is a breathtaking match and one that takes many unexpected turns. Akaya turns to his devilish tactics and it leaves Fuji not only injured but blinded! Despite that, Fuji wants to keep playing and he’s determined to win! The odds have never been greater. One loss and Seishun goes home, but how can they hope to win when their player cannot see and is battling the merciless ace of Rikkai?

Illustratively the match between Shusuke and Akaya bursts off the page. It’s exceptionally dynamic. Akaya is shown as demonic looking in the drawing style which suits his character perfectly.  This volume offers whole new perspectives on the players fans have come to know and keeps up the suspense and excitement in the storytelling flawlessly with the most recent turn of events.

IN SUMMARY:
Rikkai has Seishun on the ropes in this round of tennis as the matches in the Knato Finals heat up! It’s sports manga at its best and most exciting!
