Shogakukan Group to administer a website that has a YouTube like viewing concept called Dream Tribes. The site will open in June and will feature manga, illustrations, anime, music and novels, etc, although the site is currently concentrating on manga contents for the time being. Registration for the site has not started, but a placeholder pageon its official website is up with an announcement that the site is recruiting for authors and authors can upload their work for free. Users are not allowed to register other than to view the work of the authors.

Another announcement on the site is a recruiting plan called “Major Debut Project”. Manga artist usually debut their work through means of contest on manga magazine, or presenting their portfolio to publishers. Dream Tribes’ “Major Debut Project” will bring in a completely new system for authors to present their work. No details specified on how this would work.
