Finishing up his battle with the old guard of the Robert’s 10, Ueki and his friends barely get a chance to catch their breath before they’re lured into a maniacal trap by the sadistic Robert. In a mansion filled with traps of all kinds, the band of heroes will find themselves pitted against the all new members of the Robert’s 10, and one of Robert’s new guard is a previous ally of Ueki’s! In the latest fight for justice by Ueki and the fight for who will be the next Celestial King, the stakes have risen and not only Ueki is drawn into this latest battle. This time we get to see his friends in action as one duel after the other presents itself at Robert’s sadistic whims. Most interesting is a battle involving Ai who has no powers whatsoever. One of the more exciting duels involves Rinko, the member of the Robert’s 10 who left and joined Ueki’s side of righteousness. Those two duels and the betrayal of Ueki’s friend make some spicy drama to the action filled series. The fights themselves take on new flavors as the new crew is the freakiest villains yet to appear and with some bizarre powers too. The creativity is continually impressive with the strange powers that they keep coming up with and how they are used. It makes for innovative battles that manage usually (at least so far) at not be too violent while still being suspenseful. EXTRAS: Bonus features include an insert with character information. On the disc are original Japanese promos and Geneon previews. IN SUMMARY: Law of Ueki volume 5 is one of the most exciting volumes yet that gives Ueki’s friends a chance to step up and shine as the fight against the new Robert’s 10. |
