At last, the long awaited new series from Kaori Yuki has arrived. Fans of both Angel Sanctuary and the Cain Saga will be thrilled at this all-new captivating otherworldly adventure mixed with horror and fantasy. Ian and Rin grew up abused with their friendship being the only light in an otherwise cruel world. Yet mercy does not smile on these two. Ian has always been able to see fairies. That, along with the strange tattoo of butterfly wings on his back raises questions about him and garners the unwanted attention of others. Cruel others who want to use him for their own malevolent purposes. One of those is Tokage and when Tokage spurs on Ian’s murder, it proves the evil opportunity to take over Ian's body and claim his life and his beloved Rin for Tokage’s own! As rich and involving a series as ever, Kaori Yuki fans will be delighted by the Gothic blend of fairy magic and deadly allure as Ian finds himself trapped as a spirit with only mercurial fairy Aislen’s help and that of the death dealer to try to regain his body and warn Rin. Given the form of a young boy, he tries to warn Rin that the Ian she knows is not the same person anymore. But at the same time both Ian and Rin will find themselves suddenly in the middle of a war between Seelie and Unseelie fey in the modern world who want nothing more than to consume the humans and take over the Earth to create a new fairy realm. In Angel Sanctuary, Kaori Yuki explored the world of angels and devils. In the Cain Saga, she explored a different facet of London, England in the days of Jack the Ripper and offered a malevolent view of the Tarot. Here she delves into the world of Celtic mythology and the creatures of the fey. Tricksy beings, beautiful and deadly, they hide an ugly side, that is as cruel and it seems heartless. What chance could a lost spirit like Ian have? But like all of Kaori Yuki’s tales, no character is ever quite what they seem. Expect as intricate and immersing a story as ever in Fairy Cube, replete with the richly detailed gothic art that Kaori Yuki is famed for in her series.
IN SUMMARY: The human world and fey world clash with an innocent boy and girl caught in the middle of nightmares and dreams made real in Kaori Yuki's latest astonishing creation – Fairy Cube. It’s a fairy tale like you have never read before.
