Emerging victorious from his battle with Kronos Heaven and the other Night, Riiko’s android with a heart returns to her arms, they vow to never be parted again, but their future will be a bittersweet one in the final volume of Absolute Boyfriend.

Together again at long last. It has been a long road for Riiko and Night. They have fallen in love, have battled androids and love rivals alike and always their hearts have remained true to each other, defying the odds against them. In the final volume they at last come together completely, consummating their relationship. But this joy may be overshadowed by the continuing problems Night has with his body. It is an android body, one that has malfunctioned and needed repair before. What happens to a mechanical body when it comes to know true love? There is also Riiko’s long time friend and lovelorn Soshi. Faced with her choice of men, he must come to terms and makes a radical decision that will affect Riiko’s safe world that she has lived in. Goodbyes, hellos and unexpected reunions meet with heartbreak and unconditional love in the emotional finale to this romantic series from beloved writer Yuu Watase.

The manga also offers two bonus stories. The first sees a girl with the uncanny ability to see and communicate with ghosts. She ends up trying to help a couple of happy but drifting school souls, falling in love with one of their handsome number. Falling in love, a human with a ghost, isn’t so unlike the seemingly insurmountable odds of a girl falling in love with an android. It is an interesting mirror of the main series given a completely different context and short and sweet stand alone story. The second tale involves a young man with the unusual ability to scent out peoples’ perfect matches. However he can never find his own perfectly scented true love. When a girl with no scent, none whatsoever, goes to him for help, he is challenged like never before to make a match. But what happens when danger intrudes and his own feelings come into play? It is another engaging and creative romance to warm the hearts with its ending while adding a hint of suspense and danger to the overall tale.

IN SUMMARY:
Absolute Boyfriend comes to a bittersweet conclusion in this final volume.
