The end of a quest! Roan and his band of heroes hustle to try to stop the rise of evil being resurrected. But right off the bat heavy losses and troubles hit them aplenty. Takius has disappeared, Roan is acting like a massive jerk, and Maya, poor sweet little Maya, suffers a crippling blow. Broken, how can these rookies ever hope to save anything or anyone? Drama, drama, drama! It’s heavy angst right out of the gate in the start of the final episodes of Ragnarok. Maya gets broken. And Keough is still playing head games with lil’ sis Yufa. Plus Yufa has to put up with Roan’s pissing and moaning. He is like the worst hero ever. Dude is as far from acting like a real man as you can get. It’s Maya that my heart goes out to. She seems to have suffered the most throughout this series and Roan acts like too much of a jerk and Yufa too much of a doormat to garner any rival sympathy. When Maya faces off against Zealotus, an incredible secret is revealed. This one’s a biggie! Each of the adventurers has to face off in the Dark Caverns. The rift between Roan and Yufa only gets worse and Roan’s bad attitude only drives her into her hateful brother’s evil arms! Plus Iruga is fighting while still wounded. Holy mess adventurers! Everything comes full circle when the team goes to where it all first began and fight it out to stop the Dark Lord from being resurrected. It’s Zephyrus vs. Takius, Iruga vs. Keough, and Roan vs….Yufa?! People are switching sides and not everyone will make it out alive before the end draws nigh! There are some awesome sword and sorcery battles in the final eps. The stuff between Takius and her old teacher are cool battle-wise, but overall I can’t help but feel she got short changed in the story. The Iruga and Keough duel is mega cool. They are so manly! The whole Roan and Yufa thing is a bit too predictable and he’s not deserving, but hey, the guy with the sword sort of has to save the day, or at least help to. It’s a group effort and it’s anyone’s guess as to which of the questers make it to the very end in one piece.
EXTRAS: Extra goodies are FUNimation trailers.
IN SUMMARY: The final volume has some big battles in a huge good versus evil royal rumble sword and sorcery style!
