BOY SUSPENDED 3 DAYS FROM SCHOOL FOR NUDE MANGA DRAWINGS

According to an article from the Anchorage Daily News, 12 year-old Hatcher Johnson was suspended 3-days from school for bringing nude female drawing in manga style. The boy who freehanded and based his drawings came straight from the book Manga Mania: How to Draw Japanese Comics. He believed that it was ok to show them at school because he saw nude paintings in art books in the library.

	The problem is even if you consider the drawing as art, it still can offend someone ...which happened here. I understand the school\'s stand-point on this, but three days of suspension is a little too harsh though. Registered Report

	Lord. I hope that kid becomes excellent in art. Nothing wrong with nudes...especially since they're drawings and hes PRACTICING anatomy. If they were sexual in nature, yeah, he'd deserve it, but this kind of 'punishment' is way too harsh. http://lanedeluna.deviantart.com Registered Report

	Something IN THE SCHOOL gave the boy the belief that he could show the drawings. Shouldn't the school be at fault here? If the boy was only trying to show his talents...he'd be really hurt with what he got for showing it. Guest Report

	It's art not sex and art should be free for all ages. Should we treat certain kinds of art like beer, cigarettes, and porn? Sorry kid but you are too young to draw or paint like Leonardo. Guest Report
