There’s something nasty on the island and Kouhei and Hazuki will find themselves and their loved ones right in the middle of it! Sweet, gentle Kaoru will be the victim, the vessel and the villainess all in one. The vampire Freya has Kaoru in her clutches and she will heartlessly use the young girl’s purity and inner most desires to twist her and lure the others into a trap to set Freya and the evil contained within the island free at last.

It’s very suspenseful excitement and trepidation this volume. Freya puts Kaoru, and through her, those closest to her through quite the emotional wringer to create a dangerous and climatic moment during the tree ceremony for the island. Before which Kaoru tries to seduce Kouhei! It lends to some of the raciest moments of the series so far while being also heart rending. There are deep seated character revelations this volume and more insight into the bond between Kouhei and Hazuki as they discuss their mothers and Hazuki at last seems to realize and accept the truth about the mother she misses so dearly.

Meanwhile disturbing things are going on with Arte and her group. They are following Hazuki’s footsteps with Mario right by Arte’s side and they have a rather disconcerting exchange. I can’t help but worry for Arte. She seems vulnerable in her hate which she clings to like a security blanket, but what is it protecting her from? And Mario is an unsettling character whose true motives are as yet to be uncovered. He seems far more formidable in the fact that he looks almost normal but aloof. His control is a strength that the emotional vampires around him lack. His interest in Luna never wavers, his focus is absolute. But he’ll have to hurry lest Freya beat him to his prey!

IN SUMMARY:
Victims, villains, and tragedy loom large in the latest stunning events in Tsukuyomi Moon Phase. Captivating!
