New Casshern anime and plans for live-action Gatchaman film announced during Tokyo International Anime Fair 2008.

During the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2008 that was held on March 27 – 30, Tatsunoko Production/Nikkatsu/Takara booth and Madhouse booth both announced the revival of the classic sci-fi animation Casshern. It will be the third animation series for the popular anime that was produced and broadcast in 1973. The series spawned a four volume OVAs in 1993 and a live action film in 2003, which was directed and produced by Kazuaki Kiriya.

On other note, Nikkatsu, the producer of the live-action version of Casshern, have plans of producing a live-action action film of another popular 70’s sci-fi series Gatchaman. Nikkatsu also plans of producing remakes of other Tatsunoko titles.
