Alice is in Rin’s clutches and despite their heart-to-heart, he remains overpowered by his memories as Shion to take over the Earth and control the entire planet. His access to the moon base is complete and it’s now a race to see if Alice can reach him or to what extent his fellow reincarnated moon base comrades will go to in order to stop him. Here it is a last, the final volume to this operatic tale of love, loss and reincarnation. This is a series that originally took over seven years when it was originally released in Japan. It holds tremendous emotional depth in its exploration of reincarnation, karma, war, love, grief, despair and hope. As Rin struggles with his memories of a grief maddened Shion, he tries to cope with the present, while Alice pleads with him to not destroy their future, the future for us all. This has been a tremendous dramatic journey. Seeing how each character suffers from their past and the decisions they make because of it in the present, has been intensely compelling. To see how the past can weigh down the soul and ruin the future is done in a revealing way throughout the manga series. Although this struggle is seen primarily through Alice and Rin, the secondary characters also portray that struggle each in their own individual way. The swelling of emotion that rises as the story moves towards its end is an uprising of dramatic movement that touches the heart and the soul. This is a manga series that holds a powerful emotional impact and its story and its characters will become dear and precious to all those who read it. Extras in this volume include an interview with creator, artist and writer of Please Save My Earth: Saki Hiwatari. IN SUMMARY: The final volume of this epic saga brings the tale to a poignant conclusion. |
