Family matters take centre stage in the romantic drama as Sano’s little brother appears on the scene. While Mizuki and Sano still struggle privately with each of their evolving feelings towards the other, the upcoming high jump meet gets the primary focus as Sano goes up not just against longtime rival but his newest athletic rival – his own brother. This volume puts Miyuki’s and Sano’s relationship on the backburner as it focuses on Sano’s family and his background. The unstable relationship with his brother is explored by Mizuki who tries to make everything better due to her staunch belief that everyone should get along. The whole volume ends with the climatic cliffhanger of the appearance of Sano’s father. He’s a man Sano has suffered an estranged relationship with for some time now. Extras on in the volume include a “Tale of the Assistants” which is a delightful humorous look at the people who help the mangaka. IN SUMMARY: The latest volume of this popular shojo sees the romance taking a step back as Sano’s family drama takes centre stage on the field of high jump competition. |
