Flower Mound, TX, March 16, 2008 – FUNimation Entertainment received an honor from Trans World Entertainment when the leading specialty retailer recently named FUNimation Entertainment the recipient of its “Independent Video Vender of the Year Award.”

The award was presented during Trans World Entertainment’s Annual Awards Dinner held at Manhattan’s famous Rainbow Room on March 11.

“I want to thank everyone on my team and everyone at FUNimation for their contributions in earning this prestigious award” said Larry Griffin, vice president of sales at FUNimation Entertainment.

Steve Paniccia, DVD Buyer at Trans World was quoted as saying “The Independent DVD Vendor Award honors an independent studio partner who excels in their class of trade and has a commitment to Trans World’s success.  Funimation has had tremendous results two years in a row with back to back increases in retail sales and gross profit percent and therefore was an easy pick for this award”.   

The ceremony included Trans World Entertainment honoring several studios and record labels with awards on that evening as well as a performance by singer song writer “Jewel”.
