In the second of the Dayan Book Collection from Dark Horse, the mischievous cat finds himself stuck out in the rain. Not a very pleasant experience for any cat! However a chance meeting and an all new friend might teach Dayan how to appreciate the rainy day’s in life.
Akiko Ikeda’s marvelous tales of furry friends and lots of fun continues. In Thursday Rainy Party, Dayan is befriended by a kind frog who helps the cat find shelter. The frog however loves the rain and the new bond these two form, will lead to a special party like none other. A rainy party is set to happen and Dayan waits impatiently for when it will rain again so that he can see his new friend. Ever charming, the book tells the tale of appreciating differences and its mutual benefits. Dayan learns a new appreciation for the rain and makes a new friend while the frog also gains a new friend and is taught the calendar of weekdays by an inventive Dayan. The cat’s form of making a calendar is a lovely display of imagination and the rainy day party shows all sorts of fun, including a catchy rhyme that I can picture children repeating readily. Creative and lively, this is the prefect story for any rainy day. IN SUMMARY: Dayan’s Rainy Day Party is the perfect story for any rainy day and sunny too. Dayan’s adventures are wonderful flights of fancy that you’ll want to share with your family and friends. |
