Pop Japan Travel and Japan L.A. are combining forces to create the Japan L.A. Super Mega Fun Tokyo Trip
It’s a match made in tengoku! Pop Japan Travel and Japan L.A. are combining forces to create the Japan L.A. Super Mega Fun Tokyo Trip. The tour is one week in Tokyo, June 18 to 25, and it’s going to be a cute Japanese toy overload. Sanrio Puroland, the Ghibli Museum, Akihabara, Nakano Broadway, Hakuhinkan, Kiddyland, Kappabashi, and to top it all off the Tokyo Toy Show! Plus some surprise exclusives from the Japanese toy world. But we’re also offering the option to stay on until June 27 and enjoy two jam-packed days in Osaka and Kyoto, with a riverboat ride, chartered bus tour and, of course, shopping at Osaka’s Chax Colony, home of Gloomy Bear, and much more.
For those who don’t know, Japan L.A. is a very cool shop off Melrose in West Hollywood that’s got piles of Japanese and Japan-inspired toys, stuffed animals, accessories and other cute stuff. It’s all hand-picked by the inestimable Jamie Rivadeneira, who will be coming along on the tour! The tour is priced at $2,098 plus a fuel surcharge of about $235, which includes roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles to Tokyo on Singapore Airlines, hotel accommodations at the Tokyo Hilton, full guided tours of Tokyo, and all entry fees and transportation to the events listed above! The extension to Kyoto and Osaka runs an additional $750, which also includes hotel, charter bus tour of Kyoto and bullet train ride from Kyoto to Tokyo and back. If you’re interested, stop by Japan L.A. at 648 N. Fuller Ave., Los Angeles, CA, for an application, or e-mail Jamie at

. The trip is meant for customers of the shop, but if there’s room we are happy to bring along all comers! But hurry, because the deadline to express interest is March 31, just over two weeks from now! DIGITAL MANGA'S POP JAPAN TRAVEL is the original and premiere provider of pop culture themed tours of Japan. Since 2003, PJT has operated more than 15 tours with themes focused on Japanese anime, manga, games and more. Pop Japan tours offer a careful balance of the hyper-modern world of J-pop culture and the rich traditions of ancient Japan, and PJT is the ONLY tour agency to provide exclusive experiences such as visits to anime and game studios, meetings with manga artists, and more. Pop Japan Travel tours are organized in cooperation with IACE Travel, one of Japan's largest travel agencies. JAPAN LA is a little store off Melrose Ave., in Los Angeles. It was started by a girl named Jamie, who wanted to create a store where people could buy cute stuff, inspired by Japanese and L.A. pop culture. It is not an anime store or a comic book store. It's cool gifts and T-shirts with Japanese pop culture inspired characters and graphics. It has a more girly feel because it is owned by a girl, but don't let the Hello Kitty fool you. There is tons of stuff for guys too. |
