Sachie has settled in fairly well with her yakuza family since her mother passed away. In fact, she’s grown quite fond of them all, every single hooligan and thug in her grandfather’s employ, but none more so than Rakuto. It’s too bad that he keeps pushing her buttons and driving her up the wall, otherwise she might settle down long enough to realize she’s completely fallen for him and vice versa. But he’s her bodyguard and he won’t cross that line. At least he’s trying not too. But when a rival for her affections arrives, the lovely Rakuto may just have to get in touch with his inner bandit and steal Sachie’s heart before it’s too late!
A summer trip to the beach is a wonderful chance at a vacation. At least that’s what Sachie has in mind. Unfortunately life, or could it be fate, has other plans. A girl who enjoys life to the fullest and cares for others, she quickly comes to the aid of an abused vendor. At least that’s who she thinks the young and handsome Azuma is. She quickly learns he’s being taken in by her grandfather while his only family, a friend of her grandfather’s, has a stay at the hospital. He’s immediately taken with her spirit and beauty. Rakuto however, immediately notices Azuma’s intentions and the fight for Sachie’s heart begins! This new character lights a fire under Rakuto. It lends to some moments where he reveals part of his true feelings for and to Sachie. It is unfortunate that she can’t seem to always understand what he means. A camping trip and a dance only pull her and Rakuto further apart while Azuma takes the opportunity to get closer to her. It’s a bad idea to get between a yakuza and the one he cherishes! Something Azuma might be about to learn the hard way. Things get more complicated at school. The festival is coming up and the classes are each deciding what they will do. Trouble brews when an overzealous and unscrupulous film club wants a shot of Rakuto and they discover the biggest secret of all - that Sachie is yakuza! Now it’s up to Sachie to try to diffuse the situation, but can even her big heart and strong spirit be enough to quell the rumors that she and those she lives with are yakuza? It’s the warmth of the characters striving against such difficult and painful pasts and yet still remaining so good, that makes this manga such a winner and so heart warming and endearing. Romantic, the affection and comedic tale will charm even hard hearted types with its winning ways. IN SUMMARY: Wild Ones sees Sachie and Rakuto getting closer in the midst of rivals and rumors. It’s a manga that will appeal to the romantic rebel in everyone. |
