A cursed carriage has Zero trying to save a pack of ghosts. But these vengeful spirits thank him by enthralling him to them! That just ticks Kurohime off because he belongs to her. In the battle that follows, she’s overwhelmed by the wrathful spirits. In a moment of sacrifice, Zero shoots himself in order to fight the ghosts and save her. To get him back Kurohime must use the same forbidden resurrection magic that got her cursed by the gods to begin with!

This pivotal volume of the manga has a lot of crucial stuff going on. First is Zero’s heart which has been recently riddled with doubts after learning that the Kurohime he follows and fights for might not be the same woman he fell in love with. He learned that she is perhaps a shell of the person she was with her ability to love stripped from her. But if that’s the case, what made her risk everything to save him? Could her heart be awakening despite the curse of the gods? Now the two gunslingers have to fight of a horde of beautiful but lethal Death Angels who have come to make Kurohime pay with her soul! The fight doesn’t go well, but she manages to evade the Death Angels. However, this just ups the stakes as they turn to seduction to convert Onimaru’s entire gang into their willing and wrathful slaves and turn them on Kurohime. The fight turns so violent that it even brings the attention of the ruler of the Death Angels and he isn’t pleased with their lack of progress. Now Kurohime and Zero are trapped by the river Styx and only one is allowed to cross over alive. Which will it be?

The blend of sexy females and slick action in this manga is captivating. And the intrigue has never been more compelling. The arrival of the Dark Lord also sees a companion, a goddess of mercy who looks just like Kurohime!
