BLOOD + CAST & CREW INTERVIEW PART 1
Articles
Sunday, 02 March 2008
Active Anime interviews the cast and crew of Blood + via conference call during WonderCon (Feb 22 - 24). First part of the interview is with Director Michael Hack and Story Editors Joe D' Ambrosia and Tom Teves as they talked about their experiences working with Blood+.

Questions for Director Michael Hack:

Rumors have it that this TV series began as an English dubbed anime then it was translated to Japanese. Is there any truth to that rumor?

Anime fans accepted the original Blood (The Last Vampire), and after all of these years, then the follow up series finally arrives and you've been tapped to direct the series.  Did you feel any pressure directing this series, and what were the expectations?

Any stories you can share that stand out during your time directing Blood+?

You have cast, directed, and have been nominated multiple times in the Daytime Emmy Awards. What poses the biggest challenge for you in directing Blood+?

Questions for Story Editors Joe D' Ambrosia and Tom Teves:

For anime fans unfamiliar with the behind the scenes process, can you both please describe what it is you do?

Both of you have worked together in Astro Boy in 2003 as a producer, and compare to Blood+, Astro Boy is nowhere near to the violence that accompanies Blood+. The opening scene alone is very violent. What came to your mind when you saw all the violent in this animated series?

You both have plenty of responsibilities as a story editor, and assuming that both of you have to make recommended changes in the story line, what do you think the biggest recommendation or feedback that the both of you had to suggest to make the series more dramatic and feasible to the American audiences?
