The group of adventurers take on a new quest but it’s one not only filled with overwhelming numbers threatening the entire city, but also a confrontation with Yufa’s brother Keough! He rattles everyone’s cages. And that’s only the beginning!

He shakes up Takius real bad, forcing her to question everything she believes in. Harsher is the impact of his cruel words on Roan and Yufa. He is not the brother she admired and loved. But what has changed him? Or who?  His words are like a punch to the gut and it’s hero worship gone so wrong for innocent Yufa and loyal Roan. It’s gonna shake them up and make them choose new paths, get stronger, and hopefully eventually someone will kick Keough’s smug butt! 

Recuperating back at the assassins’ guild after the quest, Iruga confesses his guilt to Yufa, revealing what happened between him and Keough. It explains Iruga’s sense of oblgation to Yufa’s brother and his guilt. But he’s not the only one in the doldrums over Keough. Tormented by his failure when they faced Keough, Roan teams with some unseemly types in order to get stronger. He is obsessed with becoming a more powerful swordsman. Things change big time when Roan meets a Crusader and decides to become one, to become a Protector. But this change won’t be everything a hero hopes for. 

The other quest puts them all in danger. Takius is faced with the doubts about her teacher Zephyrus sown by Keough. And it happens while she and Yufa are attacked by a freaky clock creature. Her search and sacrifice to find the ultimate truth could have been blinder than she’s known. Meanwhile Yufa is separated from her when Takius is attacked by Zealotus. And Yufa must again face her brother, but hits hard times when he tells her part of what happened to fill him with so much venomous hate. He asks her to join him or die. She cannot believe he would harm her and is about to find out just how much her brother has truly changed!

Big changes happen for Roan and Yufa in these episodes. He decides to take the road of the high and mighty while Yufa makes her own career choice. Roan’s big power boost has gone to his head though. He’s all of a sudden got a big attitude to go with that huge sword and it’s ticking the others off. Way to alienate your comrades buddy! And his gang isn’t having a happy time. It’s like a World of Warcraft run gone wrong! Yufa feels left out and Takius seems a few marbles short since her run-in at the bell tower. It’s not looking good for these adventurers and the bad guys are honing in!

They troop off to stop a monster girl from raising the dead and now it’s a clash of egos with a powered up Yufa battling it out over Roan’s now constant urge to solve everything by hacking at it! It’s too funny. These two kids need a spanking or something, especially Roan. Then Takius’ mentor shows his true colors, like any of us are surprised that the crazy looking dude with the evil laugh turns out to be crazy and evil! It’s a big bold move with a bit of heart break for the gang. Can these troopers get it together and actually save anyone?

Just like an RPG with the different people changing levels in power as they move up the ranks of their particular characters (Roan being a fighter and Yufa a cleric/acolyte type), that’s exactly what happens to these two in this volume. Plus hopefully hottie Takius will by the big clue and get her act together.

IN SUMMARY:
The gang powers up, the evil doers get in their licks, and the group has to get it together if they hope to save the day! It’s sword and sorcery anime old school with ramped up anime action!
