Sensually racy in a way only Toko Kawai can produce. The creator of Our Everlasting, and Loveholic brings a whole new sexscapade filled with obsessive desire and burning love.

Bond(z) is only the first of the romance, sex and obsession within this stand alone yaoi anthology. There are four stories. The first is “Bond(z)”, about two university students and best friends who have a night of drunken, sizzling sex that neither can forget about. The second story, “Situation”, is about two friends since they were toddlers, Yoh and Akira. As a young child Akira wanted to be Yoh’s bride. Now both in university, Yoh has struggled to keep a cool façade around the openly gay Akira in order to protect himself from his own deeply burning desires. Next in “Kitan Garden”, Toko Kawai gives us a Gothic adult fantasy. In a kingdom of roses, a prince is granted a bittersweet wish to meet the human man who so kindly tends the garden. The final story, “Sakura”, where a woebegone office worker is forced to live with the heir of the company, proves to be a romantic story of a fragile love first coming into bloom.

Toko Kawai’s talent really shines in this collection. The stories are each engaging and erotic in their own way. Some are edgy like the piercing scene in “Bond(z)”, while “Sakura” is a gentle tale of love, “Situation” is one filled with angst and tension, and “Kitan Garden” is an absorbing erotic fantasy. Out of all the stories in this manga, it is “Kitan Garden” that displays some of Toko Kawai’s most amazing art work with rich Gothic style and imaginative designs.

Extras in the manga include a full color cover page, translator and editor notes, and an after word from Toko Kawai. The dust jacket on the inside also has an exclusive “801-chan” comic strip.

IN SUMMARY:
Bond(z) is a yaoi anthology rich in imagination and erotic tones.
