Get set for another yaoi anthology that’s fun, flighty and cute from those wonderful people at DMP. A bunch of stories, a bunch of handsome young men getting together tale after tale, who could ask for anything more?
First up is the story by same name. Youji loves Noboru ever since they were little kids. He’s never given up on marrying the man of his heart. To the point of pursuing him for 20 years! He’ll stop at nothing to keep his man all to himself, even if that means stealing Noboru’s girlfriends from him! Can this stalker find true happiness? Find out just who’s kidding who in Everlasting Love. Later in ‘Never Give Up Love’, Hayato is the heir to a big house, money, and prestige. For a while now he’s had this yummy tutor and caretaker Sakura. It could be the student may have something to teach the tutor in this tale of turnabout being fair play! In some even sweeter yaoi fare, we’ve got Katsuki who’s 21 and takes on an orphan who no one wants. It’s a cute caring relationship but when Riku grows up, he wants to put away childish things and win the adult he grew up to love more than anyone. It’s a little risqué in ‘My Sweet Home’ but sweet goodness. Speaking of sugary stories, in ‘I Found a Twinkling Star’ newly appointed kindergarten teacher Keita has a crush on senior teach Tomoya. He loves how good the guy is with the kids. And the bonding moments he shares with his idol are so sweet you could risk cavities reading it! Right after that things stay cute but get a little odd when scaredy cat Tetsu finds his friend Kitahara willing to do nearly anything to help him get over his fear of dogs. When a third party interferes, things get more than a little hairy. My favorite short story in all of this is ‘A Town in the Evening’. Chisato and Yasu are childhood friends now grown up. Yasu’s gay but doesn’t want Chisato, the man he’s always loved, to find out. When Yasu does, you won’t have to wait long for the sparks to fly! There’s something really warm about this last story that was nice and really romantic. The very end has a bonus story about Riku and Katsu where things get pretty heated! The manga has a lot of fun scenes. My only itty bitty criticism is that at times the guys look the same in a couple of the different stories. But the manga’s fun. And there are comic panels under the dust jacket – sneaky fun! IN SUMMARY: Everlasting Love is a yaoi anthology that’s a little racy, a little naughty and loads of fun
