This round Harima continues to get himself mixed up and confused more and more with those two nutty sisters, and he finally butts heads enough with Hanai that the closest thing to a real rumble happens. And it involves guns! Get ready for the insane, the funny, and the just plain weird in the latest School Rumble!
It starts off with ditz Tenma draggin’ her hot sis Yakumo up for a rooftop chat to ‘clear the air’. She thinks Yakumo is into Harima. Now Harima at this point is downstairs desperate to clear the air and try to yet again to confess his love to the ever clueless Tenma. I think he should bite a bit of sweet reality and hook up with sweet Yakumo. He bursts on the scene in his usual over-the-top way and BAM! Reality goes out the window and things just get even more screwed up and misguided than they ever were before! This poor sap couldn’t get a break if he was hit over the head with it. Many times! And that has happened in this manga series so you know it’s true! The sorry wuss to Tenma’s inexplicable charms ends up getting dragged on a shopping trip with Tenma (which is a good thing) to shop for a birthday gift for Karasuma, the guy Tenma is head over heals for (which is a very, very bad thing for Harima). The complete riot of the show is a near actual riot! Harima and his class want one thing for the cultural festival, Hanai and his group another. It’s the class play versus the cute café and Akira has the perfect (!?) solution to their stand off – a gun fight! The nighttime hallways of the school will never be the same again when the classes form themselves into armies complete with BB guns and go to take each other out. This has got to be one of the coolest and funniest sequences out of the series so far! The manga is merciless in its comedy at spoofing nearly every kind of war drama and battle satire they can squeeze in. You’ll never forget Eri’s frightening transformation, a bitter betrayal all for the sake of a maid costume, and Yuki has a moment that will set her heart to go pitty-pat! Now if all the laughs weren’t enough, the end of this volume has a satire of all the cast of School Rumble as cavemen! Nothing is sacred and too weird to laugh at in this wacky series! IN SUMMARY: The love triangle with Harima and the sisters goes from bad to weird, to worse! And the school breaks out into all out war! Get ready for an actual rumble in School Rumble, a crazy comedy that keeps dishing out the laughs! |
