Tsukasa and Yuu share a trip down memory road and a trip to the hot springs. In fact this volume manga is full of trips, not only trips down memory lane and to hot springs, but a guy tripping over himself to confess his love, a girl tripping over her heart as she stumbles to figure out who it longs for…All this trippin’ and no safety net in sight in the freefall romance of the manga Pastel.

It starts of funny and sweet. Tsukasa and Yuu spend quality time together. It’s a she said/she said moment as both girls remember their shared childhood, we’re given a glimpse from each girls’ point of view and one will shake up the other’s interpretation of the past. It’s hugs moment all around.

After that Kazuki chooses to confess to Manami that he’s always loved her. Oh oh! He knows she’s long held a torch for Mugi, his best pal, but he takes the giant leap forward and then reaps what he sows. Poor Manami is in a tailspin over it, but Kazuki might be even worse. An accident will show where hearts truly lie in a dramatic moment in the otherwise kind hearted romantic comedy.

Speaking of comedy, that happens in a burst of surprises but it might just break Mugi’s heart! It’s great news but Mugi feels like he’s losing his small and precious family. He hides his pain behind a nice smile. But will it be enough to assuage the pain? When his birthday arrives, Yuu tries to cheer him up and onward by giving him a special day. In fact, it’s almost like a date! His pals, the ever mischievous Tsukasa and thick-headed kind of single minded Kazuki, urge him on – with all sorts of funny results! The mood might strike right. Will Mugi finally kiss the girl?

Manga extras include translation notes, bonus manga, and a preview of the next volume in its original Japanese language.

IN SUMMARY:
Mugi is just too clean cut to handle this romance stuff. Can he win the girl with honest and brutally slow paced wishing? Find out in the latest volume of Pastel! It’s too sweet for words! There’s a love confession, hot spring teases, a marriage in the making, and more!
