A mansion, secrets, and heirs to a multimillion-dollar business empire are only the beginning of the sweeping dramatic epic found in Ka Shin Fu. From the creator of Yellow, Ka Shin Fu begins with two cousins and only one can inherit the business all covet. Yuuichi is dark and conservative. He has never forgotten his teenage passionate affair with the good looking and free-spirited Shuu. Years later, one finds Shuu to be a notorious playboy and the other a reserved businessman. When they are called back to the estate and told they must compete as heirs for the family fortune, events are set into motion that none could have foreseen.

Distance has not banked their desire for each other. A series of events will lead to desire, death, deceit and power plays both in and out of the bedroom. But this is only the prologue to the larger story at play. Many years pass, and again two young men are called to the estate. Now it is the dark and handsome Ryuugo, son of a disinherited older brother to the grand dame of the household, and the pretty and meek Kaoru whose past lies heavy with tragedy. Both have hidden agendas. One plans revenge, but how far is he wiling to go to get it? The other may be the dark angel who can save him. Their story fills the bulk of this one-shot manga and it is an engrossing drama, heavy with angst and showing a wider scope than your average yaoi.

Makoto Tateno’s incomparable art style for beautiful men and dynamic erotic scenes shines. The story plays out very much like a variation of primetime dramas in their soap opera glory like Dynasty and such. There are sordid deeds, backroom and bedroom power plays, true love amidst corrupting greed, and romance in the shadows of men money broking and family conglomerates with skeletons in their closet.

IN SUMMARY:
Ka Shin Fu is a one-shot following the generations of one family with many secrets.
