The War Games haven’t yet officially begun. That hasn’t stopped the Chess Pieces from going around and razing villages to the ground. When Ginta sees the waste and destruction he gets his mad on and is ready to find the guys that did it and teach them a lesson! Team Mar is getting it together and taking the fight to the Chess Pieces in this volume of MAR!
Finding the villains doesn’t prove easy. Nanashi follows some to an underground lake, enraged at what happened. This guy is intense with an ARM power of his own that can wipe out everyone involved in his showdown with Orca, Chess Piece with attitude to spare. Ginta though, faces off against Girom and he’s a tough customer. When it looks like Ginta’s back is up against the wall, Babbo goes through his craziest transformation so far, Gargoyle rocks! Time to use the third magic stone. It helps Ginta create a guardian power, but his imagination turns it into a frightening new guardian which freaks everyone else out. Has Ginta gone too far, too fast? Oh oh! It was foretold that seven comrades will join pretty Snow and Ginta in their quest. Brace yourself for the newest recruit - John Peach. This guy is all about “righteous deeds” but he’s a few stalks shy of a bale of hay if you know what I mean. He’s not the brightest bulb in the box. He’s got energy to spare and has these funny, weird companions that look like bizarre little jello people. He’s over the top and kicks up a whole new bunch of comedy and energy to the show. Now the War Games are about to begin – almost. First they each have to go through a test to qualify as combatants. The qualifying round is weird because it’s over way faster than you’d expect. Really soon the whole group is sorted out and Team Mar is formed. Next step – take on the Chess Pieces and let the War Games begin! EXTRAS: Extra goodies include a snazzy foil cover, reverse cover art, sneak peeks at other Viz manga and DVD titles, production art, and MAR dictionary. IN SUMMARY: In the latest volume of MAR, The Chess Pieces get nasty, Team Mar gets formed, and the War Games are about to begin! |
