Just when Zatch and Kiyo decide they have to figure out the spell book, weirdo Dr. Riddles and his special mamodo attack! He claims to know all sorts of stuff about the book and the mamodo world. Is he foolin’ or does he really know the lowdown and is about to take Zatch out?
Riddles is an odd duel. As much as he and his mamodo are a force to be reckoned with, they seem to be giving Zatch and Kiyo all kinds of tips during the fight. Almost like they want the duo to figure it out. Zatch manages to uncover the sixth spell. But there’s one big problem – he doesn’t know what it does and how to use it! How are Zatch and Kiyo going to get out of this one? Those couple of eps were big time curiosities because the series hasn’t revealed any big mamado secrets in a while. And this one deals directly with the book and Zatch’s abilities. If he figures it out, he can reach a new plateau and bad mamodo’s beware! Speaking of bad guys, they end up meeting a creepy team that wants Kiyo and Zatch to join them – or else! They talk like they’re good guys but they have a whole army of mamodo and human fighting teams under their power. Watch out Kiyo! Be wary Zatch! The last episode this volume hits some comedy but raises some questions too. A mamodo girl named Penny shows up. She’s got the hots for Zatch big time. She claims she knew him back in the mamodo world. But he’s got no memory of that time. Feeling rejected and like she got shafted, Penny gets ticked off and rips off into a full scale tantrum, powers flaring and tempers flying – right at Zatch! She’s a fearsome foe when feeling brushed off. Kiyo’s desperate to get Zatch to tell Penny he likes her, Zatch is adamant he won’t say anything of the sort, and Penny is determined to make him pay for breaking her heart. It’s a fun episode but it gets serious towards the very end with her going full out to do him in. It’s a cliffhanger of course. So hang in there Zatch fans! Maybe Zatch will find love. But it could be the end of him! EXTRAS:
