It's the fourth in a series of romance games produced by KOEI, and the story takes place in a wilderness called Arcadia, where monsters/demons called "Thanatos" run rampant. The heroine Angelique is a queen candidate whose destiny is to save the world. She becomes an "orb hunter", and travels with her friends hunting Thanatos.

In the first half of the series, she awakens as a queen candidate, meets some friends, and races to save the world. The second half focuses on the dynamic between the characters as they wander the land, which has lost its foundation and become ruined.
