Taking a page from The Matrix and The Animatrix, Warner Brothers is expanding the world of Christopher Nolan’s Batman with new animated shorts before the release of The Dark Knight in summer of 2008. Studio 4C, Production I.G, and Madhouse will animate six shorts for Batman: Gotham Knight. All three studios were involved with The Animatrix. Bruce Timm will direct all six stories based on scripts by American writes tied with the Batman franchise, both in comics and feature films, although Satoshi Kon is rumored to direct one ore more of the animated shorts.
