Still obsessing about the girl in the picture that he acquired during his volunteer work on the lunar surface, Takeru and his friends, Kazuma and Biz, catch the attention of the watchful eyes of Eden as they begin a search for the girl that will lead them to a conspiracy and a shocking revelation about Earth. In the process, Takeru befriend his Tube Race rival while searching for the mysterious girl.

The second installment of FREEDOM starts with a brief summarization on why humankind left Earth in the first place and led to the creation and establishment of EDEN on the moon, as this 25 minute OVA still continues to grab your attention with its animation and great story telling.

Having watched it on high definition, the incredible animation comes crisp and clean as Director Syuhei Morita utilizes some Hollywood imagery from blockbuster films to create the world of FREEDOM. The subterranean world of Eden is the spitting image of the city in Blade Runner, Space Station Freeport looks like the space station in Star Trek, the robots bare similarities to the robots from Star Wars Episode 1, and the video surveillance resembles The Matrix, all of which enhances the imagery of the OVA.

As for the story, it is one of the best and original stories to come out in years in anime. It's a well thought out plot, combined with the right amount of excitement to keep you yearning for more.

EXTRAS:
Extras are only accessible when you watch the OVA on HD. It comes with the Volume 3 trailer, and the 3DCG Simulation Video with picture-in-picture feature in 5.1 channel.

IN SUMMARY:
A captivating and enthralling second volume as a single picture brings a shocking revelation to one of the most original stories in anime to come out in years.
