School Rumble hits the beach and the swimwear in this volume! This anime is crazy. A good chunk of this set of episodes is all about those girls getting into their bikinis and frolicking in the water. First they hit a water park where Tenma is her usual insane self. The girl knocks me out she is so out there crazy! She’s all green with envy about her friends being hit on by guys. What she failed to notice in her constant ditzy state, is that nice guy Nara is hitting on her! Can he make her forget all about the curried obsessed guy she’s so inexplicably hung up on? He’ll probably have as much luck as Harima will have trying yet again to attract the attention of fair and addled Tenma!
Oh, but the bathing suit goodness doesn’t stop there. Later they also hit the beach so Harima gets a second (read: billionth) chance to confess his love to the girl. But the group gets separated. Not so swift or smart Imadori and quiet Mikoto get stranded together. Could this be true love? Not if School Rumble has anything to say about it! It’s all about the off the wall mix-ups, screw-ups, and bizarre hang-ups this motley crew has. These two are waiting for rescue but considering their friends are equally clueless and out to lunch, they better save themselves before it’s too late. Next it’s yukata dreams in a funny episode that begins with three really short shorts about the sisters Yakuma and Tenma. The episode actually throws a bit of drama our way (no way!) when Sara says something she shouldn’t have and it’s overheard by Mikoto. Could this be the end of yet another near-meaningless friendship? Say it isn’t so! Plus Harima screws up again in trying to approach Tenma, but in helping with the hurt kitty (awww!) he ends up catching the eye of Yakuma. Now this isn’t the first time so far this series when these two have accidentally kind of hooked up, crossed paths, what have you, and it’s gotta make you wonder if he maybe won’t clue in to the fact that the older sister is the better choice. I love how crazy this anime is. It has yukata clad beauties, swimwear galore, and there’s even a naked Harima which no man needs to see ever! But damn it’s funny! There should be rules to watching this anime. They include to never drink during an episode or else you risk spraying! EXTRAS:
