Alone at his family’s, Yamato is alone with Suzuka, they have a tender moment…then busted! Suzuka pulls another sarcastic head-trip on the boy. Confused, he turns to his actual girlfriend (novel concept) Honota for solace. He tries to be the perfect boyfriend but her insecurity senses the truth. He meets her friend who tells him a thing or two about being a real boyfriend. If he cares about her, buck up and stop acting like it – be it. Her birthday’s coming up so he goes to shop for a good present, and wouldn’t you know it? Somehow he ends up shopping with Suzuka and it’s Honota who finds them together!

This manga is like real life romantic angst. Which guy hasn’t had the girl who keeps him at arms length but keeps giving him all sorts of mixed signals? That’s Suzuka all over. She’s the head case that you could do without but keep going back to. Like an addict, Yamato can’t give her up. And he’s shortchanging Honota because of it. She’s so sad all the time! He’d better get his head on straight. So what does he do? Gets all riled up over Suzuka then comes on too hard to Honota! Bad, bad Yamato. He’s screwing up again.

Can anyone set this guy on the straight and narrow? Well, as it turns out, Honota has a good friend and she just happens to be an idol singer. He’s swept away at the chance to meet her, but it doesn’t take her long to figure out his trauma. She gets him aside after a night of karaoke and tells him to get his act together. He realizes she’s right, but can he measure up? Going out birthday shopping for your girlfriend with the woman you’d rather be with seems a pretty stupid way to go about it. This guy has Jerry Springer potential written all over him!

There are all sorts of extra goodies at the end of the manga. There’s a relationship chart, notes, character profiles, preview of next volume in Japanese, and a funny extra story.

IN SUMMARY:
More angst, more confusion for everyone involved in this love triangle, and the next step in Suzuka! Find out if Yamato rises to the challenge of being a decent boyfriend or if he falls flat on his face.
