Keita is a short guy with a good heart who likes to run, even though he’s slow. He’s slow in more ways than one because when his scheming gal pal Natsuki tricks him into buying a magical box that she convinces him will give him 3 wishes – he buys it! He never suspects a thing. As soon as he opens it, one hot lil’ lady pops out! She claims to be a genie who’ll grant him 3 wishes, but it doesn’t take him long to spy her cute little tail and bat wings. She’s one hot little devil and that’s literally! Now this cutie with an eye on Keita’s soul tries to figure out ways to seduce him into making his wishes. But she doesn’t have a clue on how humans do things and relies on some antiquated book to help her out. It’s hilarious. Then when a violent angel appears, it’s a showdown for who will get his soul first! It’s romantic magical madcap mayhem in My Dearest Devil Princess!

Chaos never looked so charming! Fans of Oh My Goddess, Shuffle and Maburaho, here’s your heads up. My Dearest Devil Princess is so much like the legendary Oh My Goddess but saucy with the fan service and racy with the humor. Instead of getting surrounded by goddesses, Keita gets the love whammy from devils! I love it! The two are obviously crushing on each other, even if they’re both too clueless to realize it yet. Then when crazy psycho angel Sheeta arrives, its otherworldly smackdown time. She’s on a mission to “save” Keita’s soul, and that means killing him! She’s a tomboy who’s all about the smiting, and apparently maybe copping a feel off of Keita’s fellow and jealous classmate Ryoko. She’s the queen of the school. It’s not that she’s jealous of Keita. She’s jealous that the coveted guy Hayami seems to be keen on Keita the guy instead of ‘perfect’ girl Ryoko! So we get a little yuri and yaoi subtext going on with Sheeta’s antics and Hayami’s chasing after Keita.

So this manga has way more than mere love triangles, we’ve got love tangles going on. And it feeds all sorts of dirty pool if you know what I mean. Sheeta uses Ryoko’s jealousy to get her to put her up at her place and to help trap Mina, that cute devil princess. Ryoko even gets Hayami to help because he doesn’t like that strange new girl hanging off of ‘his’ boy. When these two witless humans realize that the angelic creature they’re helping wants to deal salvation to Keita with a huge sword, Hayami panics and Ryoko figures she may have chosen the wrong teammate to get her the upper hand in winning Hayami’s heart. Considering his inclinations, she needs more than some angelic assistance to win that boy over! Love traps, dangerous spells, and more. What’s sweet cutie pie Mina to do? Well, it turns out this innocent devil has some mega powers. She may in fact be a bigger boss in the underworld than anyone realizes. She’s got these cool rings that summon spirits of awesome powers to do her bidding. And Heaven help the person – or angel- who gets between her and her boy because there will be Hell to pay!

Love this manga, its super fun, crazy in the best way and even romantic too. The art work is fantastic. It’s so smooth and tasty that it could easily be seen as an anime (One can only hope that happens!). The ladies are sexy and the illustrator doesn’t mind showing them off. There’re all kinds of sexy fan service involving the females in the show in various positions and states of undress. The fantasy stuff is cool. Those rings are neat. I want some of my own!  The designs alone are great. At the end of the first volume there are profiles of the different otherworldly creatures and where their names originated from and an explanation of them and their powers. Plus there’s a preview of volume 2 in English.

IN SUMMARY:
This manga is a devilish delight! It’s romantic romps and magical bedlam a la Oh My Goddess and Shuffle. It’s a sexy romantic comedy with heart! It’s sweet and spicy!
