Nippon Television Network Corporation has initiated their plans to distribute anime via the Internet by starting with the anime The Legend of Mahjong this past week (Nov. 8). The project is to utilized online distribution for late night anime titles that becomes a hit, and its long-term plan is to expand the viewing opportunities for its programming and to promote DVD sales. The service will be delivered by the Usen Group services: PC TV Gyao and Mobile GyaO for free and GyaO Next for a flat rate and ShowTime for pay video distribution.
