The big trouble in Little Garden is far from over for the Straw Hats gang but they squeak out in one piece (get it? ‘one piece’?). Princess Vivi is hoping to return to Alabasta and save her kingdom. But alas, o woe, poor Nami the navigator has fallen low with fever. Now the gang has to race for a cure not knowing those Baroque Works aren’t done with them yet! The good guy gang make it to an island that’s perpetually winter. They go up against rabid man-eating giant rabbits, sheer ice covered cliffs, and a maniacal evil king following them, all to get to the who do with the voodoo, the witch doctor who is Nami’s only hope!

Those winter island inhabitants are hard done by, and that’s because of King Wapol, the dude with the evil chompers. There’s one villager still brave enough to fight him and it’s brave and squarish Dalton. He’s the new hero in this volume. I don’t know that he’ll last past these chapters though! He’s a big square guy with gut, with honor, and is likely fitting into the Star Trek ‘red shirts’ category for One Piece.

The wacky characters keep comin’ this manga. There’s the crazy chomping king, were-bull dude, huge rabid rabbits, and wait till you get a load of the crazy witchdoctor Dr. Kureha and her reindeer assistant Tony Tony Chopper. The crazy designs and zany art work really jumps out at ya. And the manga ends with a heck of a cliff-hanger –actually almost on an actual cliff when an avalanche threatens to doom them all! And Nami still needs medical care stat!

IN SUMMARY:
More fun, more danger, more rubber boy swashbuckling action, this time in a scenic winter venue in One Piece!
