Active Anime had the pleasure to do a quick interview with anime director Shinichi Watanabe (Excel Saga, Nerima Daikon Brothers, The Wallflower) during Oni-Con. Hear what Mr. Watanabe's anwsers about himself, The Wallflower, piracy, and the world being Nabeshinized.
Note: There will be two voices in the audio file, as Tomo (translator) will ask the questions and translate Mr. Watanabe's answers.
• What drives you to create and direct anime?
• When did you realize you want to create and direct?
• When you started n the business, did you envision that your work will be popular outside of Japan?
• What it is in The Wallflower that made you direct the show?
• Other than good-looking naked men, what else can the fans expect from The Wallflower?
• You are probably the first Japanese artist that spoken about piracy in front of the American fans; do you plan to spread the word, and you hope that other Japanese artist would follow what you just did.
• When can we expect the next work from the great Shinchi Watanabe?
• Is there anything you want to say to the anime fans out there?
Active Anime would like to thank Mr. Shinichiro Watanabe and his crew and the good people of Oni-Con for allowing this interview to happen. We hope to see you next year in Houston Mr. Watanabe!!!
