Hiro’s still trying to adjust to his life as the servant (aka slave) of supernatural Princess Hime who he’s smitten with despite her often grisly and violent behavior. First a surprise visit from Hime’s little sister Sherwood is filled with murderous plots and malevolent undertakings. Family reunions were never quite like this! Then the belle of the School, Reiri takes a sudden interest in ordinary (minus the blood slave thing) boy Hiro. It seems his status as a Blood Warrior makes him a target to any and all supernatural creatures, of which there seems to be a lot. Now he’s being targeted by vampires. And even werewolf girl Riza has her challenges when not only does her long standing hatred of vampires come up, but also she has to face a bunch of altered villainous werewolves.

There’s a lot of supernatural action but also drama packed into this manga along with a good dose of dark comedy. At times Hiro’s situation is fantastically funny, but there are dramatic turns that it takes when the question is raised about what happened to Hime’s other Blood Warriors. And he worries about what he truly means to her. When the altered werewolves viciously attack, Hime’s ultimate solution is disturbing and unsettles Hiro. Can he stay devoted to her as he realizes the way she truly is? Does he see the real Hime or only his own devoted illusion of her? Curiously though, this manga volume also serves to reveal some oddly compassionate moments with Hime, first with her sister, then with the vampire attacking her, and later in a background chapter telling readers about her earlier years and how showing mercy to an android almost got her killed. Later, when the group becomes stranded in a place filled with regular people, Hiro has to deal with the fact that this now supernatural existence poses a threat to those normal humans around him. His life with ordinary humans is over. The guilt he feels over their deaths hits him hard. It is the most fully horror based chapter out of this manga volume.

Manga extras include a spoof spin-off story, translation notes, and a comical preview of the next volume.

IN SUMMARY:
Vampires, murderous sisters and psychotic robot battles are all a day in the life – or undead life – of Hiro now that he’s become Princess Hime’s blood slave. It’s life, death and beyond in this action laced horror comedy!
