Rena’s a high school student living a double life. She’s secretly a mangaka who writes popular shoujo comics. It’s romance, romance, romance, on the page but in real life Rena has never even been out on a date!  When the ultra good looking Tomoya finds out her secret, she asks him to be her boyfriend so that she can write better manga and he says yes! Now she’s suddenly dating the most coveted boy in the school for ulterior motives. But hearts never did care a fig for business! Love might finally be in the air for real in Fall in Love Like a Comic!

This is a sweet and ultra cute shoujo series. Rena draws love scenes but has never been in love. And Tomoya is mega handsome, he’s so good looking that a lot of people keep trying to steal him away from Rena or flat out don’t believe they’re really a couple. At every turn Tomoya proves them wrong and acts like the perfect shoujo boyfriend. So much so that Rena seems to forget this was only for research and starts to fall for him! When he gets a job acting and has to do a kiss scene with a beautiful girl, Rena gets jealous. Pretty soon this make-believe couple is going to have a very real first fight! Just who is fooling who?

There’s a bonus story “Magical Project”. A girl in magic school wants to turn her trusted canine companion into a human. She needs to do it to be on her way as a supreme sorceress but for some reason she just can’t manage. Twists and turns and spells abound for a cute magical romantic romp.

Fall in Love Like a Comic has comedy, romance and the sprinkles of melodrama shoujo fans long for. It has a perfect shoujo art style. Pretty windswept looks, hot guys and cute girls with more than a few teasing scenes between the odd couple that you’ll yearn to see get together.
