The second volume of this strong sci-fi anime not only has drama but danger. The attack also brings Honoka and her unique power to the attention of one of the powerful members of the Third. Meanwhile Honoka is about to learn the biggest secret of all might not be her third blue eye, but the true identity of the young man she’s been traveling with –Iks. These four episodes cover a lot of ground, including revealing Honoka’s childhood and the story behind her third eye as well as the surprising identity of her traveling companion Iks. It follows the small group as they deal with the death of Zankan and Honoka meets the Blue Breaker in combat a second time. Joganki meets up with her again but his interest in her still remains a mystery. One episode focuses solely on Honoka alone with her AI out in the desert. It imparts the brutality of desert existence in their world while also showing Honoka’s compassion and hope. The most interesting episode is the last one on this volume. A Sand Dragon stampede near Emporium gives rise to a mystery involving an intriguing woman quick with a pistol by the name of Paife.
