The latest volume sees the heroes and their loved ones in dire peril. Hikaru has been kidnapped by the vampire Art. Kouhei learns he has a very powerful gift that’s been sealed since he was a child. The seal is unlocked and now he must learn to control his gift or be overpowered and suffer complete madness! It drives a terrible wedge between him and Hazuki. Burdened by her guilt, blaming herself for the humans who have suffered trying to protect her and now with Kouhei terrified of her, Hazuki makes a terrible choice – to sacrifice herself to save all of them.

The main bulk of this volume focuses on Hazuki’s hidden guilt and Kouhei’s true power. He must overcome the terrible madness of his gift and learn to use his Erasing Power before he loses Hazuki forever! She blames herself for the loss of grandpa and Elfriede, and now with Hikaru kidnapped and the compound under attack by the evil Jeda and Balgus, she feels compelled to give herself up rather than see anyone else she cares for suffer because of her.

Great drama, some well timed comedy, and suspense all mixed in with action and romance creates an incredibly engaging ride for the reader. The relationship between Hazuki and Kouhei holds some especially moving moments in this volume when they speak without being able to see each other. The volume builds to a confrontation between Hazuki/Luna and Art and the answer to the question of whether Kouhei can control his power or let it destroy him. Ultimately this latest set of chapters show just how strong the bond and the love between them have grown. Now they just have to survive the latest attack to see if somehow this vampire and this human can live happily ever after.

IN SUMMARY:
Tsukuyomi Moon Phase is a terrific mix of vampire action, comedy, supernatural intrigue, and forbidden romance.
