DMP has done something brilliant. They’ve garnered a wonderful talent in getting mangaka Yuno Ogami to create for DMP a yaoi exclusive to North America. Therefore they have a Japanese mangaka creating a yaoi manga and having it translated and published here and only here for North American fans! Wonderful! Therefore rather than being one of the growing OEL (Original English language) books which has non-Japanese artists create manga-esque stories, DMP has got the real thing, offering it exclusively for their North American manga fans. Not only do we get an exclusive manga but it has all the trimmings and showcases the style and storytelling talent of an actual Japanese manga because it is an actual Japanese manga artist doing it.

And what a debut title! L’Etoile Solitare, which translates literally into “The Solitary Star” or can be interpreted as “The Lonely Star”, is a story that will delight yaoi fans. A romantic drama of love in conflicting circumstances thrives under Ogami-san’s sensitive storytelling and attractive art style. With a vindictive fiancée in the wings, undermining (Or should that be pining?) subordinates with their own agendas, and the business world as a backdrop, this is an entertaining dramatic romance with a fine share of melodrama for the aspiring couple.
